and I am a freelance instructor and consultant with years of experience with Siebel CRM and Oracle Business Intelligence. I decided to start this website to share my experience with Oracle BI.

I started to work with this product in 2002 when Siebel Systems acquired nQuire Software. I was working as an Instructor for Siebel Systems at this time and some new trainings about a product called Siebel Analytics 7.0 had just appeared in the Siebel University curriculum. I quickly realised that Siebel Analytics was the new name of the nQuire software and I really liked this product. By the way, you can still find part of the original product name in some files even today: guess what is the meaning of the “nQ” prefix you still find in some files :-)
The product evolved during the next few years, it became Siebel Analytics 7.5, later 7.7 and 7.8. A complete set of metadata (a RPD repository, many analysis and dashboards) and the ETL processes to populate a DataWarehouse were created to integrate the product with the Siebel CRM.
Siebel Systems was acquired by Oracle in 2006 and the product was renamed Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 10g (OBIEE). Oracle released version 11g in 2010 with a new architecture (integration with Weblogic). and version 12c in 2015. In 2017, Oracle launched Oracle Analytics Cloud to offer it as a PaaS (Platform as a Service) on Oracle Cloud and Oracle Analytics Server in 2020 to replace OBIEE.
The next step in my BI Journey was therefore to give a look to Oracle Analytics Server, so I decided to do a full installation from scratch in a VM and I have created many tutorials to document all the steps. I will be adding new entries so stay tuned to discover them.
