An installation of the Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure was required before instaling the Oracle Analytics Server, so I performed the installation in the Oracle Linux 8.5 VirtualBox VM. I have documented all the steps in this tutorial in case you need to do something similar.
The installation of many Oracle software require the prior installation of a JDK. It’s not an issue and we saw how to install an Oracle JDK RPM package in a previous post. Unfortunately some products keep the JDK installation directory name in their settings or properties and it is not always easy to quickly modify this path everywhere. We are going to see in this page an easy solution to avoid this issue.
The installation of a JDK is something required during the installation of many Oracle products. It is sometimes included with some of them but I wanted to have a standalone installation from the official Oracle RPM instead of having to use an existing one. I have documented all the steps in this page in case you need to do it too.
I had previously installed Oracle Linux 8.5 in a VirtualBox VM and I had successfully installed Oracle DB 19c with the ORCLCDB sample database. I could access the “Oracle Enterprise Manager” using a web browser executed inside the VM but I realised that I could not access it from the host computer for instance. I realised that the Oracle Linux firewall might be filtering these requests. So I decided to check the firewall status and to change the default zone and I have documented how I did it in this small tutorial.
In a previous tutorial we saw how to autostart the ORCLCDB sample Oracle database in an Oracle Linux 8.5 VM. We are now going to see how to connect to the ORCLPDB1 Pluggable database hosted by the ORCLCDB Container and how to auto open it after a reboot.
In a previous tutorial I described how I installed the Oracle 19c ORCLCDB sample database on an Oracle Linux 8.5. After the installation, I had to manually start up the DB instance and the “Oracle Listener”. We are going to see in this page how to start automatically these two elements.
